It will be a nice trip with lots of fishing and packrafting, just a few walking sessions Helge told me. Helge was right about one thing; it was a very nice trip, but far more of an expedition than a fishing trip. I have never been so tired after a week of supposedly fishing. Never! My Garmin took GPS coordinates every hour the sun was up, and it showed, in straight lines, roughly 60 kilometers in 7 days time. Add a few twists and turns and you can imagine. To top it all up, our backpacks weighed 40kg! (note to self, pack lighter)
We got to see all the important things when hiking Hardangervidda. Hårteigen, Geitvassdalen, Hardangerjøkulen, Hallingskarvet and in the end Gaustatoppen from Mårbu Turisthytte with a cold pint of ale.
Thank you Helge, from the bottom of my heart, for sharing your love for Hardangervidda with me. I would do it again.
