ABOUT ME

'not all trout should be reached'

Jan Fredrik Lund

In my early years, my father used to bring my older brother and me and out into the woods for some fishing. My father is a man who doesn't really care what tackle he uses as long as he has fun doing it. He was very good at taking us out to waters guaranteed to bring us bounty, small or big, it didn't matter, fish was fish and we where happy. As I grew older I became more and more fascinated by fly fishing, especially the dry fly type.

For the last 38 years I have been fishing for trout in Norway and around Europe. I prefer rivers, but some of my most enjoyable moments have been on local mountain lakes. I fish only with dry flies.

Fly fishing to me is more than just a hobby, it has become a lifestyle. I am, and I live a fly fisher. Wherever I am, wherever I go, whatever I do, I always think of fly fishing, how to trick certain trouts, what to use and how to use it, a new reel, a rod or how to tie certain flies. Some might claim that I am obsessed, so be it.

Life is more than just fly fishing, I have been blessed with a son, a 15 year old boy named Fredrik, he is my love and my life. Togheter with fly fishing they both bring purpose, happiness and joy, I would not like to live without either. But of course, Fredrik means the world to me and comes before everything, even a good hatch in the river.
